Toy Fair 2016: McFarlane Toys Redcap Collection with Assassin's Creed Movie, Attack on Titan, Spawn and More

UK Toy Fair is roaring along now and our friends on the show floor are eyeballing the latest in geeky plastics and plush. McFarlane Toys generally doesn't show much in their space at their UK Distributor Star Images' booth, but this year, I suppose they want to amp up the excitement! A new line of action figures called the Redcap Collection was premiered, featuring licenses including the new Assassin's Creed movie and video game, video games Titan Fall, Gears of War and Mass Effect, Anime Attack on Titan, Naruto and Tokyo Ghoul and returning to the pegs for the first time in many year.... the comic book anti-hero SPAWN!!

With a display flashing back to McFarlane's original Spawn toy premiere at Toy Fair many moons ago, all (most?) of their items at Star Images are mock ups, so it is difficult to get a sense of the articulation, but the scale seems to be within their standard action figure size (see Walking Dead/ HALO). McFarlane have upped their action figure game significantly over the years, so i'm sure these will be welcome additions to many a casual and old school toy collection. NOW LET'S DROOL!! ...

We've got our buddy Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch in the new Assasin's Creed film, alongside Shay Cormac from the video game...

Gears of War, Mass Effect and Titanfall round out the new video game offerings...

SPAWN RETURNS!! It will be nice to see that spikey, club footed freak on the pegs again! The line kicks off with Raven Spawn and if it sells well, we may see a massive return to the toy market. ...and maybe even that new movie we keep getting promised!

Anime icons also make a return to the McFarlane plastic armies with the world wide hit Attack on Titan at the forefront, flanked by Tokyo Ghoul and Naruto. ~pleasegetonepunchmanpleasegetonepunchman~

Loads more yet to come so keep watching and share like crazy!! ..It makes us work harder!

  1. looks like action figures judging by how they all share the same red bordering on the front of the box. probably not ready yet to show off in a plastic bubble

    1. Well yea they are going to be action figures. Mock ups are when they put pictures in the packaging. It gives retailers an idea of what the final product will look like. Some of these you can tell it's a picture of the figure while others are obviously just pieces of art. They will most definitely be in this packaging though.

  2. So he chooses to reissue a repaint with no secondary market value to gauge interest? Its like he wants it to fail so he can keep telling people no more Spawn and still pretend like he knows best.

    1. I'm betting it's not a repaint. Spawn is his baby. Why would he sabotage it?

    2. The pose look identical to the old figures, maybe they fixed the issues.

Yes, Spawn is his baby but the toys don't sell anymore, the generation who purchased every horror, fantasy and comic figures grew up, moved on while he alienated the same people when he closed the forum.

BTw, isn't that weird the man who avoided each convention 5-10 years ago (old fanbase) suddenly shows up at every trade show (Halod/waling dead/got kids) now?

    3. You're right, it isn't a repaint, it's the same as the redecoed version from years passed.

  4. Great, the Halo company rediscovers Spawn. Let's forget the last shameful 10 years.
