UPDATED!: Batman vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice Toys Arrive.. with Expected Spoilers

SPOILERS being the operative word in this article. Do NOT continue reading if you don't want elements of Batman Vs Superman ruined!
The trailer was...well...I don't want to call it epic, as it seemed more like the combination of many many elements swished around in a pot and flung against a wall ..you know..to see what sticks. We've got a world reeling after the colossal battle in Metropolis that ended when Superman nearly twisted General Zod's head off. Superman takes on an armored up Batman in scenes ripped right from the pages of The Dark Knight Returns and after a bit of a tussle, it seems they have bigger fish to fry with this film's version of Doomsday on a rampage. Wonder Woman ...and we assume, eventually, the rest of the soon-to-be members of the Justice League...step in to join the battle. We've been told this mini Doomsday isn't the only enemy the League will face in their first fight..and now new toys from Mattel may make it clear who steps up to beat down the forces of good.

Let's get right into it. There's a three pack of figures coming out which includes Superman, Batman and Lex Luthor wearing a fairly bad-ass suit of robotic armor. While it can be argued that some elements of a children's toy line are often exaggerated for the sake of fun (like Kryptonite Gauntlets and a Kryptonian Shield), i'm going to say there's a 75% chance we get to see this battle between Robo-Lex and both Superman and Batman...and that's a quality selling point!

**UPDATE** As I was giving these toy pics the once over, I realized a small detail I overlooked on my first pass, editing and posting... and it's a strong argument for why Lex's Mech Suit might actually be in the film. Did you check out the pics? Did you look closely? Did you spot the logo on his chest?

If a movie wanted to hammer home that an ego-maniacal, mega rich super genius gave himself the task of taking down an "alien threat" single-handedly after he thought a certain Batman couldn't get the job done, said ego crazed individual would certainly slap his company logo on the chest of his weapon of choice. Or maybe we see the suit earlier in the film as a future development of Lexcorp and then get to see it later in action? One thing that stands as a strong argument for this being in the film...if a toy company was going to make up a power suit for Lex to wear while fighting our heroes in an imagined moment in the film, why would they go through the trouble of putting Lex's company logo on the chest? Why bother...unless it was a detail from the movie and they were going for authenticity....

Another small movie element revealed in this crop of toys hitting store shelves as we speak can be found on the movie Batmobile. The art reveals a section of the Batman vs Superman fight may actually involve the Batmobile using its considerable armaments against Superman. Since the vehicle includes a "breakaway panel" feature, we can assume the Batmobile doesn't fair too well in the exchange.

Here's a look at the rest of the Batman vs Superman toy lineup hitting stores across the US right now. Note that there are blister carded figures that will be considered the "basic" versions of each character alongside core characters with gimmicky accessories. Those will be cheaper than the more detailed, better articulated "Multiverse" figures that have a Build-A-Batman-Grapnel-Blaster gimmick. You'll need to grab parts included in 8 Batman vs Superman Multiverse figures to complete your gun. Until the second 4 figures are released, I fear there will be a lot of people trying to be the bat with only a handle to their gun. So sad.

 Larger Scale Figures

 Vehicles

 Role Play

We've also uncovered some plush from Comic Images

And the greatest toys in the world... Bendies. You know you want them. They always look like they are about to dance.

  1. I stumbled upon these at a Toys R Us yesterday and ended up buying the 6 inch Movie Masters/ DCUC styled armored Batman.

Honestly, this line is quite a bit more exciting than most superhero movie based toylines lately.

    2. There are loads of them out. I'm hearing wave 2 of the 6 inch figures are creeping out already. Plenty of online places selling them, including Toys R Us.

I clicked out of the article not because of any possible spoilers, but personal bias. KEEP YOUR PERSONAL BIAS OUT OF THESE TYPES OF ARTICLES.

    3. I think you're missing the point, paul. Regardless of how you may or may not personally feel about the seriousness of your work or what 'sticks,' those kinds of comments only serve to instantly alienate half the people likely to view this article which you --very clearly-- spent some time putting together.

Now, maybe you like the starving artist thing more than most people, and that's, of course, fine. But,
in a blog-game that needs certain numbers of clicks to be anything more than a tragic waste of time enerygy and effort, you should really know that what youre doing is, at the very least, extremely counter productive.

Especially since youre also willing to go out of your way to add spoiler warnings and invest even more of your spare time keeping up with the comments section.
