San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Sneek Peek : Hasbro's Shockwave H.I.S.S. Tank

In two days, the doors will open and chubby people will sprint onto the convention floor with a very polite woman saying "Please, do not trample the children just to buy exclusives. Thank you." The lines will begin...and they won't stop until San Diego Comic-Con ends on Sunday...and THAT is a beautiful thing. Makes me happy to see so many people in one place buying TOYS!! Hasbro has a wide array of mind blowing products this year but one goes above and beyond to attempt to blow your mind.

G.I. JOE H.I.S.S. Tank Vehicle with Shockwave Deco and 3.75" Destro & B.A.T. Special Edition Pack : $64.99 each - Ages: 4 & up - After the extreme popularity of last year’s G.I. JOE and TRANSFORMERS crossover San Diego Comic-Con special edition, Hasbro has done it again! In 2012, the iconic G.I. JOE vehicle, the H.I.S.S. TANK, will get a DECEPTICON SHOCKWAVE make-over, including a G1 SHOCKWAVE blaster attachment. The set comes with a 3.75-inch DESTRO action figure with special edition DECEPTICON deco, a 3.75-inch COBRA B.A.T. figure with special edition CONSTUCTICON deco. The set also comes with several ENERGON cubes on a cart, a briefcase full of money, and a small boom box with 3 cassette tapes- better known to TRANSFORMERS fans as the classic alt-mode of DECEPTICON spy SOUNDWAVE along with RATBAT, LASERBEAK, and RAVAGE. Yo, Joe AND Roll Out!

So it is Transformers related...and G.I. Joe related...and designs are taken from the original cartoons for both...AND it is based on a mega popular comic book cross over that made dorky dreams come true in an age when cross overs never happened. This package has everything...seriously...EVERYTHING. Energon cubes and the cart for human (or robot) slaves to transport them, a Decepticon deco'd briefcase full of cash, a tiny Soundwave boom box with three cassettes THAT FIT IN THE BOOM BOX, A B.A.T. in dayglow green with a claw attachment to yank off Shipwreck's head and the baddest of badass Destros since he sported the leopard print. OH..and then there's Shockwave, who took a liking to Destro's newly re-designed H.I.S.S. Tank, scanned it and transformed into it. I took some zooms specifically so you could spot the robot within the machine. So much cool..I may weep. Hasbro could have easily fleeced the public with this one by pricing it for over $100 bucks, but they kept it a cool $64.99, making it a killer value considering everything that is included. Speaking of which, you'll also find bio cards for all three characters, clipped and ready for display. All of this comes in a box emblazoned with a comic styled cover featuring Destro riding Shockwave into battle straight out of the fever dreams of 12 year old me. The bottom of the box warns "Product does not convert" so don't try and push any of that Scientology bullshit on him. Shockwave will have none of it.
